Well, all I can say it that it's a good thing I'm a fast typist! I have this whole blog on the iPad, but it won't connect to the regular computer. Weird! So, I will transfer it all by retyping it.
The road to Bemidji, Minnesota, began Labor Day weekend. We had planned to travel with 3 other members of our Nor Cal Airstream unit and all met in Winnemucca Sunday afternoon, August 31.
Jane and Mike Malone, Claudia and Barry Marson and Dave and Jill Wilson were to be our travel buddies for the next 1 1/2 months! So, almost as soon as we met the group, Larry and I left the group and headed to Boise to visit family.
We had nice, but very brief, visits with my mother and sister and Larry's brother, Mark. Tuesday we all ended up at West Yellowstone, but in different camping areas. What did we ever do without cell phones?
The IMAX movie was basically the only time we were all together until we all met for our journey to Cody, WY. Our weather was good, but very cold at night. Freezing, in fact!
At Cody we visited the museum and I also visited a very nice quilt shop.
Miles City, Montana, was our next stop for a night's stay and then it was on to Bismarck, ND. I managed to talk the group into following us down Memory Lane in Glendive, where we led a parade of Airstreams down the street where I lived as a child. The trees are bigger, but the house sure looks a lot smaller than it did when I was 9. It's been many years since I've been able to really drive around. so maybe next time!
When we reached the Minnesota border, Larry and I once more had to leave the group for awhile and have the truck's DEF situation looked at by a Chevy dealership. We stayed at a city park for the night and a few hours in the morning - before we were once again on our way.
Clear Lake's Airstream Park was our next night's destination. We all did laundry, and then it was on to Bemidji.
We are having computer issues with iPhoto, so I may have to add all the pictures at the end. But, if I don't get the text done, I'll forget it all. So, carry on I must!
